I asked Inspired Mic presenters to send me a little something about themselves and what they write. I gave them free reign to pick and choose material about themselves that would be informative and promotional. As The Inspired Mic grows, potential audience participants would like to know something about those who steel their nerves and get up in front of a live audience to present their creativity. In the days leading up to the November 18th event, each of the November readers who send me their info will be In the Spotlight:

“I am at my best when I’m writing, at peace and immersed in self-fulfillment.”

Gi Marie and her husband moved to Palm Coast, FL from New Jersey in 2002. In 2009, she started writing a personal narrative/memoir in which she combines the horrors of discovering that she has a rare, aggressive and recurring eye cancer, with the beautiful memories of seven of her twenty-five, first-generation Italian aunts and uncles. Her story, A Sight Worth Feeling, was published as an e-book and in paperback in August, 2014.

Gi Marie also wrote a short story entitled Ike and Me for Tim Baker’s book, Path of the Bullet, due out this December. The story is one of five featured in Tim’s book and involves his elusive character Ike and Gi Marie’s zany character, Ruby. Tonight, she will be reading the conclusion of that story.
